ALGIERS

12 November 2021, Fri. 19:00 - 21:00

Musical innovators and revolutionaries Algiers return to Kiev with the new album There Is No Year.

On February 19, 2021, one of the most amazing and dynamic bands of our time will perform at the Caribbean Club - Americans Algiers.

3 facts about Algiers:

  • The group was named after the state of Algeria, which for the quartet is a symbol of the struggle against oppression.
  • Drummer Matt Tong used to play on the famous British band Bloc Party;
  • The legendary Massive Attack released a joint track with vocalist Algiers Franklin James Fisher

Algiers is an American quartet that plays an amazing mix of soul, post-punk, R&B and electronics. Unusual sound and arrangements, highly social lyrics and phenomenal vocals of Franklin James Fisher have made the group a real discovery for the last 5 years. A European tour with the legendary Depeche Mode only strengthened the fame of Algiers in the music scene.

In their songs, Algiers denounce violence, xenophobia, racism, social inequality, and the policies of US President Donald Trump.

“Imagine a group of revolutionaries who are going to certain death. They sit by the fire and sing songs of hope and inspiration, despite this fact. This is an allegory, but we would like to evoke this feeling with our music. ”
