The main theater event of the fall is the BALLET OPEN SPACE festival.
From October 16 to 19, the international festival “BALLET OPEN SPACE” will be held on the historical stage of the National Opera of Ukraine, which will premiere the ballet “Touch of illusion”.
Four consecutive days of inspiration and aesthetic pleasure from the dance of the bright stars of world ballet. For four consecutive days, the best world ballet dancers will not only amaze with their technique and grace, but also demonstrate the features of Italian, French, American and other leading world ballet schools on the Ukrainian stage.
Four days of a rich program from October 16 to 19, the BALLET OPEN SPACE festival will open to the audience both modern neoclassicism and the masterpieces of classics already recognized and time-tested.
On the first day of the festival, October 16, the premiere of the ballet “Touch of illusion” (“Touch of Illusions”) from the European choreographer Ricardo Amarante to the music of Sergei Rachmaninov will take place.
On the second day of the festival, October 17, spectators will be able to enjoy the ballet “Forest Song” - a diamond of national classical choreography. It was created based on the eponymous extravaganza of the Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka of the same name and presented under the musical motives of the Ukrainian classic Mikhail Skorulsky, who devoted much attention to Volyn folklore in this work.
The choreography, costumes, sets, music of the ballet “Forest Song” are permeated by the Ukrainian spirit and without a word tell about Ukraine.
The main roles will be played by the most beautiful couple of Ukrainian ballet - the premieres of the National Opera of Ukraine Alexander Stoyanov and Ekaterina Kukhar.
The third day of the festival, October 18, is represented by the loud premiere of last season (2018), the neoclassical ballet “Children of the Night” - a new breath in modern Ukrainian choreography. Staged by the choreographer and artist of Staatsbalett Berlin Alexander Abdukarimov, accompanied by music by Antonio Vivaldi and Max Richter “The Seasons”.
The main parts are performed by the premieres of the National Opera of Ukraine Alexander Stoyanov and Ekaterina Kuhar, Anna Sofia Scheller (San Francisco), Nikolai Gorodisky and Staatsbalett Berlin artist Alexander Abdukarimov.
October 19 - The closing ceremony of the festival with a grand gala concert with the participation of world ballet stars.
