The twelve Chairs. Mystical tragedy in 2 acts by I. Ilf and E. Petrov.
Music - A. Zlotnik, libretto - V. Podgorodinsky, lyrics - A. Vratarev
Ostap Bender and Ippolit Matveyevich Vorobyaninov are looking for family jewels that Vorobyaninov's late mother-in-law hid in one of the chairs in the dining room. In parallel with them, the priest Fedor is engaged in treasure hunting, to whom this terrible secret was revealed at confession.
The story of two swindlers, set off in search of Madame Petukhova's diamonds, and to this day is a wild success with readers and viewers. The name of Ostap Bender, the great strategist, became a household name, and the novel itself was sold into quotations and withstood hundreds of successful reprints and stage incarnations.
For the first time, our theater has turned to this material and, we hope, will place its accents in familiar and beloved texts. You are waiting for a bright acting game, witty moves, directorial finds, great music and .... an exciting story. Shine!
What if you are sitting in the same chair?
Dedicated to the memory of the People's Artist of Ukraine Mykola Zavgorodny.
