One of the central events of the ODESSA CLASSICS festival in 2020 is the arrival of the flagships of Estonian culture in the world, the legendary composer Arvo Pärt, conductor Neeme Järve and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in full force (about 90 musicians).
Arvo Pärt is one of the most sought after and beloved composers in the whole world for the past half century. Having gained worldwide fame in the late Soviet era, the composer is deservedly considered a living classic of world music. Known for his non-public lifestyle, Arvo Pärt rarely appears in public, although he is a welcome guest in any concert hall in the world: his visit to the ODESSA CLASSICS festival will be all the more important and unique.
Tours of a large European top-level symphony orchestra are extremely rare in Ukraine. Especially special will be the performances in Odessa of the Estonian main orchestra under the direction of the long-time leader of the orchestra, the head of an entire dynasty of conductors famous throughout the world - Maestro Neem Järve. Biography of Neme Järve is amazing by listing all the best halls in the world in which he conducted the best orchestras on the planet, he has recorded more than 500 discs! In addition to the Estonian National Orchestra, Näme Järve in different years led the orchestras of Swiss Romandia, Gothenburg, Detroit, The Hague, Birmingham, and the Scottish Royal Orchestra.
Over the past 12 years, the Maestro has performed 1,119 concerts in 125 cities around the world, leading 72 different orchestras.
