Foals have not released new material for about four years. So tight was the tour in support of the latest record of What Went Down. After the tour, Foals took a one-year break, during which the bass player Walter Gervas left the band.

This event, and not only this, prompted the group to slightly change the approach to writing and selection of material. As a result, this year we will get not one, but two full-fledged albums. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost will consist of two parts. The first will be released on March 8, and the second - in the late fall.

According to frontman Yannis Philippakis, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost will be very different in mood. He says that the first part will be more grungy and dancing, which is heard in the first single Exits and On The Luna. The second part is a solid "meat" in the spirit of the notable action films What Went Down, Inhaler and Providence.

Such a large-scale project is explained by the fact that the group liked all the songs that they composed for the album. “We loved the stuff we wrote. Not a single weak point, in our opinion. We didn’t have a goal to make a parody of the prog-rock albums with their endless tracks, but we decided not to throw anything away,” - says Yannis.

Inspiration guys found in the turbulent time that surrounds people. For residents of Britain, this is, above all, Brexit. And then there were other political feuds, global warming and other global catastrophes: “Open the newspapers: homophobia, racism, the killing of innocent people. Many good people get annoyed because they don’t know how to stop it all. We believe that these two albums are a kind of therapy for injustice.”
