About event

Anna Griniva is a singer, pianist and composer. The result of searching for her own place in contemporary music was the creation of her inter-style ensembles that perform her own improvisations and arrangements. Currently Hannah lives and works in Berlin and Weimar.

The music of Anna Hrynivoy combines the melancholy of Ukrainian folklore with jazz improvisation, and includes classical elements and contemporary musical interpretations. Scenic harmony of jazz is picked up by the tender Ukrainian melody of folk songs, causing listeners to experience unusual musical experiences. The goal is to achieve maximum sensitivity in a spontaneous combination of musical styles.

The first part of the concert is a solo performance. Anna will present an arrangement of Ukrainian folk vocals from the loop station and electronic effects for voice and piano.

In the second part of the concert, Gandhi will join talented Ukrainian jazz pianist Yuri Steredin. Yuri studied at the Lviv National Music Academy, where he received the title of "Master" composition. In 2014, Yuri joined the Berlin Jazz Institute, where he studied jazz composition at the renowned composer and drummer John Hollenbeck, visited workshops of many other influential jazz musicians from the American and European scene.

In the duet, Yuri and Anna will perform Hanna's compositions for piano and vocals.
