Igor Grigoryev in his beloved Kiev - October 13, Caribbean Club
Igor Grigoriev is a musician, composer, performer, and in the past - a journalist and producer. He gained fame as the founder of the magazine "OM". Currently, she is the author and performer of music, to determine the genre of which critics use the terms "art pop", "indie pop", "experimental pop", "indie cabaret", emphasizing the difference from traditional genres of popular music.
Grigoriev’s influence on the show business of the 90s can be assessed even by the huge list of currently popular artists and musicians who were first presented to the public precisely on the pages of the OM magazine. Largely thanks to him, post-Soviet people learned about what glossy magazines are and why they are needed. After almost two decades from the beginning of his creative activity, Igor declared himself as a singer and gained success in this field. Released the albums “Cornucopia” (2013) and “Dark Corner” (2015).
From a review by music critic Andrei Bukharin in Rolling Stone magazine:
“Cornucopia” is, of course, a camp, burlesque, an alloy of low and high, a swing. ... How songs in the style of cabaret, chanson, samba, gypsy music are pouring from the cornucopia into the head of the listener - one continuous cruel romance. ... Cosmopolitan, a man of the world who traveled him far and wide, from the snowy peaks of the Himalayas to the hot sand of the beaches of Ipanema, Grigoryev remains faithful to his roots, which stretch to the village near Taganrog with a wonderful name - Lakedemonovka, where he grew up. ... But you need to understand that, having embodied in an artist, next to whom many of the recognized and successful fade, Igor made a real personal feat, his leap into the impossible - this would not have happened if the years of tireless self-improvement were not behind all this. And no matter how interesting Cornucopia is, Grigoriev is more than what he wrote down, he is a masterpiece by himself. ”
In 2017, Igor Grigoryev introduced his new band Attraction and a new concert program consisting of disco-funk songs.
In the fall of 2018, the album “Saints” of Grigoriev’s new project, PANAMA, was released. Part of the work on it was done in Kiev. The Kiev concert, which will take place on October 13, is a vivid journey through Grigoryev’s entire work, melodic, emotional, filled with hidden meanings. Without a doubt, this action will instantly captivate the audience after itself - plunge into nostalgic waves somewhere off the coast of Brazil along with the hits of composer Yuri Chernavsky, as well as dance to the springy electro-pop of Panama. Or just enjoy the music and let yourself be enveloped in sparkling energy, warmth and sincerity, which will be abundant on this day at the Caribbean Club.
