Jerusalem Quartet, Gila Baggio (soprano) at the Odessa Philharmonic. Yiddish Cabaret

In a programme:
Schulhoff "Five Pieces for String Quartet"
Desyatnikov "Yiddish Cabaret", vocals - Gila Baggio
Brahms First Quartet in C Minor

The Jerusalem Quartet is one of the best string quartets in the world of our time. Confirmation of this is an incredibly tight concert schedule of the ensemble, consisting only of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. It was founded in 1993. Violinists Alexander Pavlovsky, Sergey Bresler and cellist Kirill Zlotnikov graduated from the Jerusalem Music Academy, while viola player Ori Kam studied at the New York Manhattan School of Music with Pinchas Zuckerman and completed his education at Berlin University of the Arts.

The Jerusalem Quartet regularly and with great success performs in the most prestigious concert halls in the world. The popularity of the quartet in the USA is growing every year: the team played in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Washington. The Jerusalem Quartet also performs in Tonchalle (Zurich), Hercules Hall (Munich), Wigmore Hall (London) and the Playe Hall (Paris), regularly participates in festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Verbier Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and others. The quartet is recorded on the Harmonia Mundi label. Their recording of Haydn's string quartets was recognized by BBC Music Magazine as the best recording of chamber music and was awarded the Diapason d'Or Arte Prize, and their recording of Schubert’s Girl and Death received the ECHO Klassik Award (2009) and became the Editors' Choice of Gramophone ( 2008). Mozart's string quartet recording, released in 2011, was included in the list of best chamber music discs according to BBC Music Magazine. In 2003, the quartet became the winner of the first ever Borletti-Buitoni Foundation Award. In Odessa, musicians will present a program from their most relevant, latest discs - "Yiddish Cabaret" and the First Brahms Quartet. The sound of the Jerusalem String Quartet for many connoisseurs is the standard of the quartet of our days.
