The utopian comedy "Kaidasheve Family" from the Frankiv Drama Theater in Lviv!

The cult work of Ukrainian literature "The Kaidash family" is about an ideal world that fascinates. The world we almost lost. A world we have no right to lose.

After the flowering of the Mazepyn Baroque, the powerful, rich, luxuriously Baroque Mazepyn Ukraine turned into a province of the Russian Empire called Little Russia. Entire generations of Ukrainians were stitched with post-colonial thinking.

Rostyslav Derzypilsky with a stellar team of actors in the production of a utopian comedy based on Nechuy-Levytskyi's novel "Kaidashev's Family" offers an artistic concept of the timeless existence of heroes - bearers of Ukrainian identity, who act in a space built according to the principle of a nativity scene, where there is hell, earth and paradise.

Along with subtle humor and lightheartedness, we will focus on historical traumas to overcome them together.

Oleksiy Hnatkovskyi, the head of the Kaidash clan, is a bearer of the Ukrainian code, who did not succumb to spiritual consolidation and resisted degradation. Kaidashikha, performed by Irma Vitovska, is a woman who possesses a unique set of traits that will lead the viewer from super comedy scenes to tragedy and then back to give absolute pleasure.
