The project takes place within the framework of the Grant of the President of Ukraine to young actors in the field of theater, music, circus, visual arts and cinematography, young writers, masters of folk art for the creation and implementation of creative projects
The concept of the project "Spirit, breath, breath and breath" is inspired by the role of breathing when playing the flute and the importance of a conscious approach in this process: Nataliya Kozhushko-Maksimiv often thinks that "in fact, my instrument is the breath itself, and the flute serves as a kind of guide for it to the listeners ".
The soloist is a member of the ensemble of new music "Ensemble Nostri Temporis", the duet "etc. duo" (together with pianist Roksolana Kit), as well as an artist of the orchestras of the Lviv National Philharmonic and the Lviv National Opera. An important milestone in the flautist's concert activity is the promotion of music of the 20th-21st centuries.
Breathing as a deep, fundamental process of our life activity led to artistic reflections about the present. According to the author of the project, "Unfortunately, we don't think about it until we start running out of air. Now, in times of war, our breathing often goes astray: it is delayed, sped up, taken hastily. Breathing is painful, scary, sometimes even unbearable. However, conscious inhalation and exhalation is the simplest meditation that allows you to find support.
The program combines previously written works that seemed to me to be close to the subject of the project, as well as specially commissioned works. I am very grateful to the composers who responded to my request to create music for me. This is a special honor for the performer.
Each piece in the program is special for me, and in the process of working on the program, I discovered new possibilities of the instrument and myself as a performer.
Similar projects, in my opinion, are especially timely now. This is a way to declare oneself, assert one's own artistic value and move processes in Ukrainian culture, because culture is what makes us visible, and we really need it right now.

"The desert breathes" : the inspiration for this work was the poetry of Lesya Ukrainka, where the life and spirit of the free desert pulse. In this composition, there was an attempt to combine a somewhat hyperbolic demonstration of the process of breathing while playing the flute with a wide, breathing melody that reflects the expanses of the desert, and the words of the performer herself, who quotes Lesya Ukrainka, adding another dimension to the work through a poetic word. This piece is about the life force that lies in every breath.

The name "M'Atematics" combines two words: "Atem" ("breath" in German) and "matics" ("mathematics" or "mechanics"). The main idea of the work is the idea that breathing is not only a physiological process, but also something that can be studied and analyzed artistically. After all, in the abstract world of sounds, each breath sign continues the infinite formula of existence, the mathematics of the universe.
