Evening one-act ballets by Radu Poklitaru.
“Bolero” by Maurice Ravel - the legendary ballet score of the twentieth century, performed by artists of the Kiev Modern Ballet troupe received an absolutely unpredictable, bold interpretation permeated by the controversial spirit of our time.
In the choreographic version of the ingenious work, Radu Poklitaru talks about the continuous, Sisyphean struggle of individuals for the right to their own “I”, for their “dissimilarity”, for freedom against a multi-headed, multi-armed octopus named “crowd”.
“Rain” is a philosophical story in the form of a choreographic suite about the destinies of people unwittingly united by one time and space. Ethnic music and contrasting music by Johann Sebastian Bach are like voices of people speaking different languages ...
The creative idea of the play grows out of the idea of music (embodying the concept of Radu Poklitaru): universal values unite different cultures and mentality of different nations.
The focus of the performance is people, feelings, the very course of life.
During the period of the Kiev Modernist Ballet, 14 one-act and 5 full-length ballets were created. The theater received 5 awards “Kiev Pectoral” for the best performances of the year.
The team successfully toured in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Romania, China, Thailand, Belarus, Moldova, South Korea, Estonia, Russia and many cities in Ukraine.
