Laibach goes to Kiev as part of the world tour "The Sound of Music". Tons of exclusive sound and lighting equipment will multiply the impression of content created for gourmets.
Industrial classics and the progenitors of Rammstein (“they are Laibach for teenagers, and we are Rammstein for adults,” the musicians agree), Laibach Slovenes have released an incredible amount of music for almost 40 years, but do not slow down and keep up the interest in experiments.
In 1980, the Laibach group created its first project, the Red Areas (Slovene. “Rdeci revirji”), which challenged the political structure of the city at that time. The project was banned before its discovery for the “incorrect and irresponsible” use of Kazimir Malevich’s black crosses, and the group could not appear on the scene.
The album “The Sound of Music” was released on November 23, 2018. His idea came in 2015, when LAIBACH was invited to concerts in North Korea. At a concert in Pyongyang, the group performed several songs from “The Sound of Music”, which was due to the fact that this film is well known and loved in North Korea, and schoolchildren often use it to learn English. As a result, such numbers from the musical as “My Favorite Things”, “Edelweiss”, “Do-Re-Mi” and “Maria” got into the album, the last Slovenes altered into “Korea”.
The album also included an interpretation of the Korean folk song “Arirang”, which is considered to be the unofficial anthem of both the DPRK and South Korea. This song was previously released as a single on the occasion of the historic summit of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-yun.
Laibach had a great influence on world music and the development of industrial and martial-industrial genres.
The previous concerts in Kiev took place in 1998.
