Lubomir Melnik returns to Ukraine as part of a world tour before his 70th birthday
Lyubomir Melnik is a composer and pianist of Ukrainian origin who is a pioneer of Continuous Piano Music. Classically trained and strongly influenced the minimalist movement of the early 1970s. He developed his own unique language for piano, named after the principle of maintaining a continuous, unsurpassed flow of sound.
Lyubomir Melnik - a real innovator, explored new directions of modern music. He is not only considered one of the fastest concert pianists in the world, his compositions also really carry the listener into new areas. To see one of his live performances is nothing more than the discovery of a new sensible experience.
Melnik showed remarkable dedication to the instrument, always striving to discover new ways of composing music in continuous mode. His focus is on the actual sound of the piano, as well as on the harmony and melody of the music. Using fast and complex patterns of notes, Lyubomir’s virtuoso pianist method forms overtones, which in rare moments combine, collide, or even create new melodies, and thus form a composition beyond its original form. To do this, you need a special technique that for many years brought him to mastery.
Joining the label Erased Tapes back in 2013, its founder Robert Raths knew it was time to share the pianist’s great musical heritage, to which he simply replied: “Where were you guys when I was thirty?”.
In his almost seventy, Lubomir Melnik is the author of more than 100 works, and in his discography he has more than 20 published albums. His talent is recognized by both musicians and world media. By showing the video of Christina Solovey's song to the world, he once again proved that music has no limits when two creative people come together to do something common, unbelievable, and something no one expects from them.
Since September, Lubomir is going to his first World Tour, which will last until the end of 2019 and will cover many cities and countries. One of these will be his native Ukraine.
