The Opera and Ballet Theater presents the opera from Madame Butterfly's golden classic money box. The lyrical work of tragic love will not leave anyone indifferent.
The drama Madame Butterfly is an opera by Giacomo Puccini, based on the play by David Belasco and the novel “Geisha” by John Luther Long. In a Japanese villa, a merchant and a naval officer Pinkerton meet. As a result of the ensuing dispute, the officer decides to marry. His philosophy of life comes down to the phrase "pick flowers wherever possible."
In contrast to the egoist Pinkerton, the author draws us a clean, devoted to our beloved Cio-Cio-san, called Butterfly (Butterfly). Abandoned by her husband, for several years the young woman has been faithful to her husband and has a son.
The long-awaited meeting with Pinkerton turns out to be tragic for Butterfly: he returns with his new wife and only in order to pick up his child.
Conductor - Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Chernetsky.
