The Opera and Ballet Theater presents an opera from the golden piggy bank of the world classic Madame Butterfly. Lyrical work about tragic love will not leave anyone indifferent.
The drama “Madame Butterfly” is an opera by Giacomo Puccini, based on the play by David Belasco and the novel “Geisha” by John Luther Long. A meeting between merchant and naval officer Pinkerton takes place in a Japanese villa. As a result of a dispute, the officer decides to marry. His philosophy of life is reduced to the phrase "pick flowers wherever possible."
In contrast to the egoist Pinkerton, the author draws us a clean, loyal to his beloved Chio-Chio-san, called the Butterfly (Butterfly). Forsaken by her unfortunate husband, for several years a young woman remains loyal to her husband and raises a son.
It turns out that the long-awaited meeting with Pinkerton is tragic for the Butterfly; he is returning with a new wife and only to take the child to him.
The conductor is Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Chernetsky.
The duration of the performance is 2 hours and 45 minutes, with an intermission.
Waiting for you.
