Despite the fact that Ray Charles was born in a very poor family (as he himself said, only the land) and loss of vision at an early age, he managed to graduate from a specialized boarding school. Where I learned to play several musical instruments at once - organ, trombone, clarinet. After graduation, Ray participated in many musical projects, mostly in jazz and country styles. But the natural talent and sense of music did not wait. Ray Charles combined two distinct genres - blues and gospel, becoming the founder of a new style called "soul."
In total, during his career, Ray Charles created 70 studio and live albums. Many of his compositions are still arranged by musicians around the world. For the famous "Georgia On My Mind" Charles received a Grammy, and in 1979 it became the official anthem of the State of Georgia.
This evening, the music of the genius of soul will be performed by the Old Fashioned Band. Under the guidance of a talented Ukrainian pianist and composer Pavel Ignatiev, the team skillfully performs jazz classics and author's music. Today, on the roof scene, the Zum is played for you:
