A brilliant vocalist with a unique style of singing and one of the best stylipanists in the world Gregory Boyd will perform on the summer stage of the Mystetsky Arsenal complex.
Jazz, blues funk and soul are in harmony with this man. The blues timbre in the ensemble with the original sound of the Caribbean stylpan makes the music performed by Boyd something extraordinary. Get ready, this evening we will capture the hurricane of musicality. Gregory Boyd's music comes from a place in paradise where peacocks take their feathers.
Boyd always had a goal - to do something differently, moving away from the general rules. When Boyd realized that the traditional sound of Caribbean steel drums was not enough for him, he decided to recreate the instrument and use it to perform different styles. He tried all the time to sing and perform as many different musical styles as possible in order to gain a rich understanding of what the instrument can and will do.
Today, Boyd is still performing jazz, funk and blues, but he does it quite specifically. His lyrical and at the same time provocative style of performance is full of bold innovations. Each performance of Boyd is different from the previous one, in each song he tries to open up to the fullest, bringing his skills to new horizons.
Gregory Boyd with his performances opened the show Bob Dylan and Macy Gray. Took part in dozens of jazz and soul festivals around the world. Boyd now has his own Urban Island band, with which he continues to create innovative music.
Discover a completely unexpected form of jazz. Fresh original music in which funk, soul, blues and Caribbean stilpans harmoniously intertwined will sound on July 5 on the summer stage of the Mystetsky Arsenal complex.
