Misha Maisky - more than three decades is the leading cellist of the world stage. Misha Maisky is a laureate of the international Tchaikovsky Competition, the only student of two 20th century cello legends, Mstislav Rostropovich and Grigory Pyatigorsky. Maisky first performed in the United States at Carnegie Hall in 1973, and in 1976 in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1982, he recorded the CD for the first time at Deutsche Grammophon.
At various times he played with pianists: Martha Argerich, Radu Lupu, violinists Joshua Bell, Yitzhak Perlman, Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, conductors Leonard Bernstein, Vladimir Ashkenazi, Daniel Barenboim, Juzeppe Sop. Artist discography is more than 30 albums.
In the MaiskyTrio, except for Misha Maisky himself, the grown-up children of the musician play - Lily Maisky (piano) and Sasha Maisky (violin).
The program includes Tchaikovsky's Trio “In Memory of a Great Artist” and Rachmaninov's works for cello and piano.
