"Wall" that separates Ukrainian culture from Russian

MUR is a Ukrainian creative association founded after February 24, 2022. The backbone of the project was formed by three friends: Ukrainian director and actor Oleksandr Khomenko, sound engineer Viktor Tkachenko and Mykola Shmundyr. Later, this "backbone" grew "muscles" and turned into a really powerful MUR, which concentrated on the education of Ukrainians in the context of telling the stories of repressed artists with the aim of getting young people interested in literature and modernizing the work of poets and novelists of the past.

The first music album "MUR vol.1" was released in June 2022. The second release took place in September of the same year and was called "Free Book". And then - then there was a mad breakthrough.

Album "You [Romance]"

"You [Romantic]" became the first historical album-musical in Ukraine about Ukrainian writers of the era of the Shot Renaissance. The album's 17 different compositions are connected by story and thus allow the listener to witness the events described in the works. The musical of the same name was recognized as a modern phenomenon, Forbes, BBC and Vogue wrote about it. Ukrainian writer Tamara Gorikha Zernya called the authors "goddamn geniuses" and added: "everyone should watch." In five days, the project collected more than 185 thousand views on YouTube. The voices of "You [Romantic]" were Serhii Zhadan, the Nazva and Heitspech bands, Yevhen Yanovych and Olena Kravets.
