Art is eternal, but it is fleeting - especially in relation to music. This is one of the genres that is perceived sometimes for a long time, sometimes intuitively, sometimes superficially, even completely lightly. Although the ideas embedded in it are much deeper than the sound surface. The main context of the "message" is often overlooked, which may not be realized by either the listener or even the performer. After all, it is the latter who is the "conductor" of ideas embodied in music, and the listener is not only a witness, but a participant in the action. This action, which, unlike painting or sculpture, is limited by space-time, outside of which it does not exist in the physical dimension.
Our meeting will take the form of an open discourse, with the participation of artists, performing musicians and the public in particular, and will also include a practical performance of well-known musical examples - whether it is the music of the Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism, or folk, modern, jazz and others.
We will try to find answers to a number of questions, namely:
How is an idea formed into a piece of music, how broad a meaning does it contain?
How is its content updated depending on time and circumstances?
What is the composer-performer-listener sequence?
Why are works able to survive centuries?
Where are the limits of understanding and perception of music? To what extent does it depend on the understanding of rhetorical figures, figurative or abstract thinking?
What is the universality of certain ideas and their values?
What is missing and what is superfluous?
We hope that we will not run out of time, and the opinion of experts and the public will never be superfluous!
Natalia Polovynka is a singer, actress, artistic director of the Slovo i Holos theater studio
Lesya Trakalo is a musicologist
Ivan Ohar - musician, sound engineer
Andriy Sagaydakovskyi is an artist
Yuri Guran - moderator, musician
