On April 25 at 6:00 PM in the Great Philharmonic Hall, an extremely diverse range of music and its high-class performance will undoubtedly delight everyone who comes to our concerts!

CONCERT PROGRAM:

  • Maurice RAVEL — Piano Concerto No. 2 for the left hand with orchestra in D major

This unique piece was commissioned by the Austrian pianist Paul Wittgenstein, who lost his right hand during World War I. Now, unfortunately, it reflects our wartime present. Here Ravel masterfully created the illusion of full use of both hands, and also demonstrated elements of jazz in the rhythms and harmonies.

Soloist - KRISTIN PAPIYEVA - laureate of numerous all-Ukrainian and international competitions;

  • Tolibhon SHAHIDI - symphonic raga "Taj Mahal" (1987)

The Tajik composer's work reflects his desire to convey the atmosphere and beauty of the famous mausoleum and pearl of Islamic art in India, the Taj Mahal ("Crown of Palaces"), through his own musical images, using elements of Indian raga in a symphonic context;

  • Heitor VILLA-LOBOS - Brazilian Bachiana No. 4 (1942) - PREMIERE IN ODESSA!

One of a series of nine bachianas. Originally written as a piano suite, the composer later created an orchestral version. It consists of four movements and demonstrates Villa-Lobos' unique style, where the classical European tradition is organically combined with the richness of Brazilian folklore.

Attending this concert will be a real gift for you and your loved ones, so don't miss this real celebration of music.
