The play "Our Town" is based on the play of the same name by Thornton Wilder, the famous American prose writer and playwright, three times Pulitzer Prize winner.
He received one of them just for this work. The play is written as a play in a play. The creators of the play define the genre of "Our Town" as "life in simple actions."
So, the action takes place at the beginning of the last century in the United States. The provincial town of Grovers Corners, New Hampshire. You are a little over 20. It seems that you are only making seemingly significant decisions. And then - once! And now you are already 70. So it’s already half a century since you became an editor or lawyer. And this elderly woman who is nearby shared with you more than 50,000 breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
In this performance, "Theater on Tea House" plunged into the life of ordinary families, of which there are many around. Into the daily life that surrounds us, in which we all live with coffee, meals and an always-burned breakfast in a skillet. Just a small town where simple little people live with simple little feelings, simple little dramas, simple little tragedies. Or maybe this "simple" and "small" is our whole planet, the whole solar system, the whole universe, the whole world?
The author himself described his work: "Our Town" is a simple play in which there are all complex themes. At the same time, this is a very difficult play, where I tell with love about the simplest things of this world. "The duration of the performance is 1.5 hours.
