The performance-laureate of the "Kyiv Account" Prize - the best performance in 2018.
The war in eastern Ukraine is not only explosions, shelling and the names of the dead. Behind its backs, on the other side of the front, lives of (not) ordinary people who have joined the broken roads of the Donbas. A young woman goes to the east of Ukraine in search of a documentary about the war, but there, in the gray zone of the borderland, becomes a hostage to both his and foreign stories. She lives as if they were in the foreground, where there is no good and evil, where the victim and the cat change their roles, and love becomes transient and elusive.
"Bad Roads" are six stories about the relationship between women and men, aggravated and distorted by the war, and about the fractures that will never be healed. This piece is one of the first statements about the war in the east of Ukraine on a large theatrical stage. Natalia Vorozhbit wrote her by collecting stories and testimonies from real people for the script "Kiborgs" (directed by Akhtem Seitablayev). But if "Kiborgs" is about myth and victory, then "Bad Roads" - about the very life that will always dominate death. For the first time, the play was staged at London's Royal Court Theater in October 2017. The Ukrainian premiere took place on September 27, 2018 at Scene 6. On May 17th - the premiere on the stage of the Kyiv Academic Drama and Comedy theater on the left bank of the Dnieper.
