May 3 at the Theater of Ivan Franko - play “Bad Roads”, six stories about life and war. Get ready for an honest and deep conversation.
The production is based on the play by Ukrainian playwright Natalia Vorozhbit. Director of the work - Tamara Trunova.
“Bad roads” are stories of people whose fortunes have been staged by the war. These are six short stories that are united by a single theme - the roads of Donbass. The heroes of the play are men and women whose relations are shown in the context of the war in the east of Ukraine. Love and war. What is their relationship? What hide from our eyes explosions, shelling, daily reports? After all, even they did not cancel the lives of ordinary people who continue to live in the “gray zone”, as if in the looking glass.
The premiere of the play “Bad Roads” took place in 2017 on the stage of London’s Royal Court Theater. The reaction of British criticism was unequivocal. So, The Guardian was called the production “powerful”, and the playwright “Ukrainian Sarah Kane.” The Independent, who called the play “a merciless look at the dehumanization of man a war,” did not stand aside.
The performance will be presented in the framework of the International Festival of Arts "Karpatsky Prostir".
