Ferryman
The play "The Ferryman" in Kyiv will take place at the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater.
The plot of the drama unfolds around Quinn Carney, a former fighter of the Irish Republican Army, who, having stopped fighting, decides to return to his usual life - becomes a farmer and is already preparing to harvest with his large family. But the past, which Quinn diligently tried to forget, returns. And this can completely turn the hero's life upside down.
The intrigue in the play is built gradually, as if winding along the undulating mountain slopes and immersing the audience in the world of love and mysticism, revenge and jealousy. And the exquisite humor and special musical accompaniment from folklore songs and rock hits of the 1960s-70s incredibly effectively complement the impression of viewing. At the same time, the inhabitants of the "emerald island" are perceived by the viewer almost as close relatives. We are waiting for you!
✅ Spectators from 14 years old are allowed to the performances without adult accompaniment
🛡️ In the event of an air raid: if an air raid alarm sounds before the start, visitors must vacate the theater premises, administrators direct spectators to the nearest shelter (metro station "Teatralna"). If the alarm is short, then after its end, the performance will begin in about 20 minutes. If the alarm is in the middle of the event, the performance is stopped, theater employees take spectators out of the theater building: the "Teatralna" metro station is located next to the theater, if the alarm is short (up to 40 minutes) the performance can be continued after the alarm ends.

Now for your attention - the production of Kirill Kashlikov. Translation from English was performed by Denis Doroshevsky.A performance that will become an unpredictable journey for the viewer through a labyrinth of feelings and emotions
The Ferryman in ancient Irish mythology is a psychopomp, a guide to the souls of the dead in the afterlife, a northern analogue of the ancient Greek Charon (however, much more cruel). And it is not surprising that the basis of the work by Jez Butterworth is a terrible find that was accidentally discovered in a swamp...The plot of the drama unfolds around Quinn Carney, a former fighter of the Irish Republican Army, who, having stopped fighting, decides to return to his usual life - becomes a farmer and is already preparing to harvest with his large family.
