Come Everyone
The concert “Come All Ye” in Kyiv will be held on March 23, 2025 at 18.00 in St. Sophia Cathedral.
Come all
We invite lovers of our ancient musical heritage to St. Sophia Cathedral for a concert presentation by the Byzantinoslavica creative workshop.
The project “Byzantinoslavica” unites two Christian musical worlds - Byzantine and Slavic, which are closely intertwined in the Ukrainian tradition of church singing.
The team, consisting of producer and singer Ruslan Kirsh, singers Pavlo Bielsky, Pavlo Moskalenko, and Mykola Dzhufer, under the direction of art history candidate Yevhenia Ihnatenko, will present a church monody, a one-voiced chant that has been heard on Ukrainian lands for over 1000 years, since the baptism of Rus in 988. For almost 600 years, from the eleventh to the late sixteenth century, only one-voiced singing was heard in churches. According to the project participants, it is the foundation and basis of the Ukrainian musical mentality and identity!
The performers will not only sing, but also explain what they are doing and how they are doing it. Modern scientific discoveries will “sound” and become understandable, and research work will turn into music that brings pleasure!
So, will you come? We are waiting for you at St. Sophia of Kyiv!
Tickets cost 500 UAH.
