18School is a Ukrainian musical group from Kyiv. The group was founded in the fall of 2024 by experienced musicians. Each of the participants already has their own background in the music industry. So it’s impossible to call the group complete beginners. At the same time, the bright musicians began a new path to popularity and recognition, to the hearts of fans under the new name 18School. The promising team’s song debut took place in December 2024. The track “Ask the Sky” is already a hit and has many fans. A video clip has already been shot for the debut composition of the newly formed group. The artists also held a joint photo shoot. The 18School group is purposefully working on creating a repertoire. The performers pay attention to each stage – from creating songs to actively promoting their work. The Ukrainian-speaking group strives to give listeners high-quality music that resonates with everyone. The musicians are helped in this by:

The 18School track “Ask the Sky” is not just a song, but the voice of a warrior who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The author of the composition was Denys Hryshchenko, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the frontman of the Crimean rock band Lithium. Denys is originally from Simferopol. The musician not only courageously defended his country at the front, but also left behind music that became a bright reflection of his bright energy. That is why the composition is definitely worthy of the attention of a wide audience.

Project history

provulok is an instrumental post-shoegaze project by musician of Crimean Tatar origin Leman Sudakla. For a long time, the band was a solo project. The artist is originally from the village of Kutlak, near Sudak. He now lives in Kyiv: due to the Russian occupation of Crimea, his family was forced to leave the peninsula. Leman grew up in unique conditions. His native village was surrounded by mountains, and the sea was nearby. There was constant interaction with nature. The language, culture, religion, and Turkic traditions were special. Up until the age of five, the boy spoke only Crimean Tatar. After the events of 2014, the young man had no desire to leave home. Due to political pressure and threats to the family, his father left immediately, while Leman stayed until he graduated from school. The family survived more than one FSB search. Later, the father convinced his son that moving to Kyiv was a necessary step.

Leman received his education as a psychologist at the Kyiv National Economic University named after V. Hetman and the Turkish city of Bursa. There was a period when the future star of the music industry worked by profession. But later he realized: he was still too young to experience burnout from a difficult occupation. Interest in music and various manifestations of creativity and art came to Leman at the age of 13. The young man worked on the beach. Nearby, artists who lived nearby also created. One day, the guy was sent to them with a routine task. At the artists' location, the guy saw a 1972 Fender Telecaster collectible guitar on the wall and asked to play it. The next day, he received his first salary and bought an acoustic guitar. Six months later, he purchased a Jay Turser electric guitar (like Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day). At the age of 16, Leman began to create his own compositions and record them. The songs sounded very raw, but every artist goes through a similar period.

Creative path

The name "Provulok" came to Leman's mind because of associations with meditative solitude and comfort. The idea to name the band provulok arose during the period when the performer actively listened to BONES and musicians from the TeamSESH association. The projects had similar, but not very meaningful names that had a special vibe. Leman chose this name because of its atmosphere, as well as because of his love for alleys in cities such as Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Istanbul or Lisbon, where there is almost no space between people.

The overarching motifs of provulok's work are a sense of homelessness, longing for the Crimean landscapes, and a deep love for national traditions. In 2019–2021, the project's music gained recognition and popularity abroad. In particular, the project's tracks made it to playlists in the USA and Latin American countries. Sudakla's compositions interested fans of the coldwave and doom genres.

One of the most anticipated releases of provulok was the post-shoegaze, third full-length album dissociation. The album is presented with nine tracks. Among them are several fits: with Nytso Potvorno, Sheetel and Lucy. dissociation explores the process of changing views and adapting to new realities, focusing on the impossibility of remaining who you were before when circumstances change. The release raises important and painful topics, such as Russian aggression and the destruction of the Crimean Tatar language in Crimea.

Style and project development

In 2025, provulok announced a change in the lineup. The band leader presents the previous concert lineup as follows:

• Zheka is a bass player who also has his own band, YCH;
• Artur is a drummer, previously played with Viktor Pavlik and in the band sportcafe;
• Lyokha is a rhythm guitarist whose playing is so aggressive that the strings on his guitar break during concerts.

Leman assures that the change in the lineup will not affect the further creation of music. After all, the artist is independently responsible for the creative process. At the same time, the performer is already preparing for performances and plans to develop the project. So, it is possible that large festival stages and large-scale tours are ahead. Provulok entered the active phase of creativity in 2023. The project conquered the Ukrainian audience, won the Koza Music Battle 2023. Currently, the group's discography includes three full-length and three mini-albums, as well as several singles.

Interesting facts:

• In order to "let go", the band leader Leman does rock climbing, ping-pong, volleyball, yoga, stretching, or disco elysium;
• The artist names overeating and video games as his bad habits;
• Describing his music, Sudakly invites listeners to imagine a huge 200-meter-high cliff covered by heavy rain. Streams of water gather at its top, and at some point a thin stream breaks down. It gradually turns into a natural flow that crashes to the ground with a roar, creating an improvised waterfall. These are the emotions that take possession of everyone while listening to provulok songs.

Band history

Tonka is a Kyiv-based musical group consisting of vocalist Olena Karas, sound producer Yaroslav Tatarchenko, and drummer Oleksandr Yavdyk. In their compositions, the group combines indie pop with shades of electronic music. In 2018, Olena Karas became a quarter-finalist in the eighth season of the show “Voice of the Country” and met Yaroslav Tatarchenko, sound producer and leader of the band MAiAK. The creative collaboration of the tandem was embodied in the Tonka project. Later, drummer Denis Shvets joined the group.

Olena Karas has a jazz background. The singer studied at the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music named after R. Glier. And the artist's musical taste was formed in her teens under the influence of jazz. Yaroslav Tatarchenko, forming as a musician, was most influenced by such artists as James Blake, Sevdaliza, FKA Twigs, Hainbach. In his youth, he listened to The Mars Volta, The Dillinger Escape Plan. Rave culture also played an important role in Tatarchenko's creative development. It is known that the sound producer is also developing the BUNHT project, with which he performed at dance parties, experimenting with industrial IDM, techno and breakbeat. It was this experience that was reflected in such tracks of the Tonka band as "Ryativnyk", "Zagublena vesna" and "Kryvava luna".

Creative path

On April 12, 2019, Tonka made their debut - they released the single "Choboty" and presented a video clip for the composition. On April 26, the first mini-album "Tak treba" was released, consisting of four original tracks. In 2020, the band released the mini-album "Taemna stroja", which in sound was closer to IDM. The musicians note that the album is dedicated to the inner search, self-identification. The tracks reflect the cyclical nature of preferences and losses, which have a direct impact on the formation of a unique life path. The band's singer Olena Karas explains that with their music, the band seeks to appeal to everyone who is bound by routine, who is lost in their own inner world and has lost touch with their true selves.

In 2021, the Masterskaya label released the EP "Plach". The focus track of the album was the song "Plach", which was born under the influence of inspiration from the work of Mykola Vingranovsky. In November 2021, the band released a dance track - the single "Dance with Me". The composition united two voices for the first time - Olena Karas and Yaroslav Tatarchenko. Poems by Ukrainian poets Oleksandr Oles and Mykola Khvylyov formed the basis of the EP "There Will Be No Youth Again". The record was released in February 2022. A lyric video was also shot for the hit "Ryativnyk". And in March 2023, Tonka presented a new mini-album "Lost Spring", which was timed to coincide with the next anniversary of the group's creation. The album was recorded in collaboration with the famous Ukrainian saxophonist Andriy Barmaly.

Style and project development

The musicians define their style as “intelligent pop.” The band members experimented with sound, adapting classical Ukrainian poetry to modern arrangements long before it became popular. The band members believe that music should be a reflection of the artists’ inner state. Tonka tries not to set any restrictions or prohibitions for themselves, allowing themselves to freely express themselves through their creativity. Vocalist Olena believes that it is important to allow people to perceive music the way they feel it. You shouldn’t try to force the audience to hear something specific, because everyone has their own vision.

Musicians understand that the cultural front is of great importance. The Tonka participants believe that the awareness of what is behind them gives a powerful impetus to the formation of identity. It unites, inspires, and inspires many. Creativity and music are important tools, because through art and culture, artists nurture Ukraine within themselves. Awards and honors

Today, popularity and recognition from fans go hand in hand with Tonko's creativity. The project is waiting for large festival stages and large-scale tours. There has already been a big solo concert at the Maly Opera in Kyiv. By the way, a successful performance at the German Reeperbahn Showcase Festival in Hamburg is also in the group's credit. Among the group's achievements:

• first place according to the LiRoom editorial team in the ranking of the 10 best Ukrainian mini-albums of 2021 (album "Plach");
• fifth place in the Top 22 best Ukrainian albums of 2022 (EP "There Will Be No Youth Again");
• nominations for the Young Blood Jager Music Awards and the "Discovery of the Year Aprize" from Aristocrats radio.

Interesting facts about the band:

• Vocalist Olena comes from Crimea, where schools devoted about two hours a week to Ukrainian language and literature. Therefore, the rapprochement and deep interest in the work of domestic authors occurred while studying in Kyiv;
• Sound producer Yaroslav grew up in Kryvyi Rih. In his youth, he joined a group of people who shared an interest in Ukrainian culture. The first author whose work greatly influenced the young man was the contemporary writer Yurko Pokalchuk.
• Olena distinguished herself in a successful collaboration with ROXOLANA, KRUTЬ and Sasha Koltsova in the format of the women's manifesto "You are a great force." The release was timed to coincide with the UN conference "Women in Ukraine." Yaroslav Tatarchenko became the producer.

Створення «злого» дуету

хейтспіч – популярний музичний проєкт, який працює під девізом «злі слова, добрі справи». У складі гурту – Дмитро Однороженко (Суми) та Фіма (Одеса). Пише тексти й музику, а також співає у дуеті Дмитро. Фіма відповідає за гітарні партії та саунд. Створення гурту відбулося у квітні 2022-го року і стало яскравою творчою відповіддю музикантів на повномасштабне вторгнення росії.

Творчість, що спонукає діяти

Учасники гурту називають свій проєкт безжанровим, хоча насправді у їхніх треках є все: хіп-хоп, рок, панк, електронна музика та елементи інших напрямків. Дмитро пише тексти на гостросоціальну тематику, а стиль виконання відрізняється суворою агресивністю.
