The concert "Joy of Easter" will take place on April 20, 2025, at 13:30 in St. Sophia Cathedral.
The concert program "Joy of Easter" reflects the cyclical nature of existence, where the birth of the new grows on the spiritual and cultural foundations of the past.
On Easter, in the heart of ancient Kyiv, where the centuries-old walls of St. Sophia are witnesses to a millennium of history, seasonal spring calls will echo—songs that preserve echoes of ancient rituals and are passed down from generation to generation. The spring songs, as a living testimony of the inseparable bond between humans and nature, will be performed by the children’s choir "Pravytsia," young girls, and women from the folklore groups "Viltse," "Mykhailove Chudo," and "Volodar."
In the second part of the concert, Greek-Byzantine chants from Ukrainian irmologions will be performed. These unique works, performed by the artistic workshop "Byzantinoslavyka" under the direction of music historian Yevheniia Ihnatenko, will allow the audience to hear the voices of the past and feel the spiritual grandeur of Byzantine music, which has influenced the development of Ukrainian culture.
With a ticket to the concert, you can attend all events of the "Easter at St. Sophia of Kyiv" event.
