The previous joint project of the leading pianist of Germany Sebastian Knauer and the German-Iranian composer Arash Safayan "UBERBACH" became a world sensation, received the ECHO KLASSIK award as a "Project Opening the Limits of Classics", became a bestseller of classical music in the world, was played hundreds and hundreds of times in the best concert halls of the world. The essence of the project was new, modern arrangements and "variations on the theme and style" of Bach. "UBERBACH" was also performed in Odessa in 2018 with the participation of the Berlin Chamber Orchestra and became one of the most outstanding events at the ODESSA CLASSICS-2018 festival. And now, at our festival, the world premiere of a new project will take place, which the world industry of classics, “Beethoven Variations” Knauer and Safayan, is eagerly awaiting. The project was recorded at SONY and the disc will be released for international release in the summer of 2020.

It is a great honor for the ODESSA CLASSICS festival to become the venue for the presentation of one of the long-awaited projects in the year of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary, a project with the potential of world sensation to discover new ways of developing classical music in the 21st century.
