"It was completely dark. Fritz and Marie sat tightly pressed against each other and did not dare to say a word. It seemed that quiet wings were blowing over them and beautiful music came from afar."
This story began two hundred years ago, in 1816, when the tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" appeared from the pen of Ernst Theodore Amadeus Hoffmann. Since that time, she went on her amazing journey from author to author, penetrating into all spheres of art. On this way, the plot, the image and the names of the characters changed. But the atmosphere of celebration, magic and miracles remained unchanged. December 18, 1892 Marius Petipa and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky presented, perhaps, the most famous interpretation of the fairy tale - the Nutcracker ballet. Thanks to the magic of dance and music, the Hoffmann heroes became a symbol of the New Year holidays for children and adults. Nowadays, the Duck Ellington Orchestra, The Classical Jazz Quartet, Eduard Artemyev and many others addressed the theme of the Nutcracker.
On February 1, his version of this story will be shown by Ilya Eresko's sextet. A year has passed since that project was presented for the first time and now in 2019 we will meet at the presentation of the album "The Nutcracker". The music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky will be performed in the style of Latin jazz, but be sure, you will still recognize the famous melodies of the Waltz of Flowers and Fairy Dragees!
