Slaves return to Kiev with a new album

Probably the two biggest motivators in the world are fear and love. In the first case, because "the eyes are afraid, and the hands are doing." In the second case, because love intoxicates and pushes on the most desperate, insane acts that you would never have solved, being sober. In all senses.

This and not only the new album of British punks Slaves called Acts Of Fear And Love, which will be released on August 17. His duet will also present to Kyiv fans at the Atlas 17 club, but in October. This will be the second Slaves performance in Ukraine after the debut at the Sentrum club in 2015.

For three years, Isaac Holman (drums, vocals) and Laurie Vincent (guitar, backing vocals) happened a lot. They recorded two records, Are You Satisfied? (2015) and Take Control (2016). Nominated for the main independent British award, Mercury Prize. They founded their own label Girl Fight, where they signed a pair of young, but promising gangs. In the end, Laurie Vincent became the father of a wonderful guy named Bart, who can be seen on the cover of the new release.

Acts Of Fear And Love was recorded in Brussels this year along with producer Joylon Thomas. This guy has several "aces" in his track record. He produced the last album U2 - Songs Of Experience, the best-selling Kendrick Lamar DAMN., The last album Royal Blood - How Did We Get So Dark ?, M83 - Junk and debut studio Slaves - Are You Satisfied ?.

The band, along with Thomas, recorded nine songs that, judging by the singles Cut And Run and Chokehold, make the band sound more experimental in the genre. Slaves did not armor piercing, hardcore, three-chord punk, recorded on the "knee", but more meaningful mainstream pop punk with quality production. A more careful approach has reduced the number of tracks (usually 13-15), but gives the listener only the best.

The new material is perfectly intertwined in the "live" Slaves. Performances at the festivals Mad Cool (Madrid) and Sziget (Hungary) are confirmed. In addition to the energy that these two create and release into the crowd, Isaac often tells stories between the tracks. So we are waiting for you live performance of tales of fear and love.
