3. How to attract more money and build long-term communication with benefactors
In June, at the invitation of the Ukrainian Catholic University, a lecturing lecture by the British trainer on fundraising and leadership Steven George will first come to Ukraine. For over 35 years, he has helped leaders of nonprofit organizations in the world become better fundraisers. In Kyiv, Stephen will share the successful experience of Britain and the United States and teach participants how to attract more money and build long-term communication with charities.
"My experience in fundraising is bigger than the age of independent Ukraine. But you have a really strong history that naturally moves your society to good deeds. Britain did not have such raids and falls for many years, and we had to invent innovations to develop a culture of charity, "says Stephen George. - I will tell you how these machines work and how we collected 55 million pounds sterling for the first year of the action for children who suffer from violence. And the main thing - why these techniques do not work if you are a bad leader. "
In a lecture on how to raise money in nonprofit organizations and become a leader in fundraising, Stephen George will tell:
- how in the United Kingdom for 700 years a legal base and a culture of charity were formed, and that should be taken over by Ukraine;
- about successful fundraising cases that have influenced the history of the country;
- 7 basic principles on how to become the best fundraiser and at the same time the best leader;
- how to explain to donors and organizations why to help and give money;
- What is a donor experience, how to take care of benefactors and build long-term relationships with donors.
"This event will help non-profit sector and all those who want to change the world, download themselves into fundraising, take international experience and escape from the local context," said Maria Artemenko, founder of the Charity Development Center, curator of the UCU charitable fund management program. - We must learn from the best to become professionals, to be more effective and to scale up changes. We have an important mission: to turn all the forces, time, money, energy, which people invest in charity, into real influence. "
The meeting with Stephen will be interesting for the leaders and volunteers of social projects, charitable foundations and public organizations; CSR specialists; owners of responsible business and everyone who aspires to change the world.
Stephen George's open lecture will be held June 20 at 18:30 at FEDORIV Hub (5, Velyka Vasylkivska Str., 5th floor) with the support of the Ukrainian Catholic University and Charity Development Center.
"UCU forms the fundraising culture in Ukraine with its own example. Without state funding, the university develops educational programs, primarily through philanthropists. We distribute the best fundraising practices by inviting renowned experts from Western Europe and the United States. One of them is the British trainer and consultant on fundraising and leadership Steven George "- comments Oksana Kulakovska, Director of the Kyiv Center of UCU.
Stephen George is an international trainer on fundraising and leadership. For more than 35 years, he has been working in the non-profit sector, including UNICEF, at the British charitable organization Scope, Child Protection from Violence (NSPCC), and support for people with cancer (Maggie's).
