In October 2018, Static X announced the reunification of the band to go on a tour dedicated to the memory of the late vocalist Wayne Static. The band will present its new project Regeneration, which will be released in the first half of 2019, as well as the 20th anniversary of its debut, Wisconsin Death Trip. Currently, the band consists of original members - Tony Campos, Ken Jay, Koichi Fukuda - and the invited vocalist.

The Static X band was formed in 1994 in Los Angeles around vocalist Wayne Static and drummer Ken Jay. The group's fame brought the Wisconsin Death Trip album in 1999, fitting into the nude-metal wave of the late 90's and gaining platinum status in the United States. After that the band has released five more successful albums.
In 2001, released the second album of the band, Machine, which became the most sold album of the band (after the debut album). Next year, Jonathan Davis of Korn came to Static X. He was responsible for the soundtrack for the Queen of the Cursed Ribbon and invited Wayne Static to sing one of his songs. In 2007, the band played on the main stage of the Ozzfest.
After the death of the founder and frontman of band Wayne Static in 2014, the band suspended its activities. However, in 2018, Tony Campos announced plans to return to work with original members Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda to release an album that will use the original recordings of vocalist Wayne Static, and will also feature invited vocalists - Disturbed, Ayven Moody, Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory, El Jorgensen, Dope and others.
