Surov (Olexandr Surov) is a Ukrainian singer and composer. Oleksandr Surov was immersed in the world of music since childhood. The boy's father, a sailor, brought various things from overseas flights. One day, among the gifts was a cassette player. It was with him that his acquaintance with Western music began: Eminem, Rammstein, Gorillaz were spinning on the device non-stop. Little Oleksandr did not just listen. He quickly learned to distinguish the sound components in the compositions. The future star of the stage felt that each of the instruments sounded special. This is how the desire to engage in creativity was born. Popularity and recognition in the music industry were still a dream.

At the same time, Alexander aspired to build a career as a radio host. The young man wanted to play music at the request of listeners. After all, it was a fashionable trend on the airwaves of those times. Already in adolescence, at the age of 14, Surov made his first attempts at creating his own songs. And four years earlier, the young man made his poetic debut.

In his youth, Surov was seriously involved in basketball and often went to training camps and sports camps. It was during one of these trips that an event occurred that forever changed the priorities of the future artist. Seeing how the older boys play the guitar, Alexander felt a real fascination. Something in this scene seemed magical to the young man. From that moment on, the guitar became the boy's constant companion. With it, Surov began to learn about the rich world of sounds, chords and endless improvisations.

Later, acquaintances invited Alexander to a rehearsal of their band, which played in the style of heavy metal. The power and energy of the powerful sound made a strong impression on the young musician. So that same day, Sashko, together with a friend, founded his own band, which was symbolically called "8th Day of the Week". Thus, music finally took the main place in Surov's life. The band created compositions about love, friendship, everyday joys and problems that are understandable to everyone. Over the years, the themes of Surov's work have remained similar. But the presentation has changed. And now the artist's tracks have more depth, reflections and experience.

Creative path

As part of the musical group, Alexander Surov began to win the hearts of fans at the age of 15. The first performance took place at the Barvy club. The successful debut not only inspired the musicians to new live performances, but also brought the first fees. The spreading fame attracted the attention of new listeners, who quickly joined the ranks of the band's loyal fans.

The history of the project "8th Day of the Week" ended two years after its creation. The band broke up, but Alexander did not abandon his creative search. He tried himself as a bass guitarist in various musical groups. But one day a surprise happened: in one of the bands, Surov was offered to try himself in the extreme vocal genre. The result exceeded all expectations. His colleagues were won over by Alexander's performance and charisma. So the musician became the leader of the metal band Selena.

Solo career

Over time, Surov felt that it was time for a change. After leaving the band, the singer completely rethought his creative vector. Moving away from the heavy sound, he began to look for his own solo sound. In 2015, producer Dmitry Sklyarov played a key role in Alexander's musical restart. It was in his studio that Surov began recording new songs. The collaboration turned out to be fruitful. And later, Dmitry suggested that the talented artist try his hand at the show "X-Factor".

Oleksandr performed on the project stage with his original composition "Catch the Wave" and impressed the judges, receiving four favorable ratings. But after a successful start, the musician found himself in a difficult period in his life: due to health problems, he had to leave the stage for a long time. The break in creativity turned out to be a real test.

The beginning of a full-scale war was a turning point for Alexander Surov, which brought the performer back to music. The first creative impulse after a long pause was the composition "Angels Do Not Sleep". This was followed by the hit "Vnebodim". The artist recalls that it was Dmitry Sklyarov who became the person who supported him during a difficult period and took on the production of songs. The revival of internal energy and the desire to create gave a new impetus to the musician's career.

Shortly after the release of "Vnebodim", Oleksandr received an offer of cooperation from one of the most famous artists and producers. However, for personal reasons, he decided to refuse. Instead, the artist was interested in another initiative. The ENKO label offered cooperation on distribution terms. The famous producer and musician Ivan Klymenko joined the creative process.

During the year of cooperation with the Surov label, he actively expanded his repertoire. 9 singles and 7 video clips were released. Among the most successful works is a duet with Anastasia Prykhodko. The joint work "Cold" has already collected over 5 million views on YouTube. In August 2024, Oleksandr presented the bright single "Wake Up" in tandem with rapper VovaZiLvova. Several more strong releases, prepared within the framework of a partnership with ENKO, are planned.

Social activity

During the full-scale war, Surov takes an active part in charitable projects and initiatives. Thus, the musician not only conveys the emotions and experiences of all Ukrainians in songs, but also supports important funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, the musician took part in a charity concert organized by the Direct Assistance Center "Peremoha".
