This brilliant work of Ukrainian drama is already a century and a half old, and the comic plot about the wooing of the poor and rich Stetsk to the beautiful Ulyana is as relevant today as ever. The girl loves the serf Oleksii and remains faithful to her choice. Wonderful Ukrainian humor, ritual song and dance, bright musical arrangement will not leave the audience indifferent and will make them fall in love with the Ukrainian language, culture, and folk customs . Unique folk dances in unobtrusive stage costumes are performed to the accompaniment of ballet . One of the dances is hopak. The performance of hopak includes elements of choreographic improvisation: jumps, squats, rotations and other virtuosic dance movements, where you can see a violation of gravity.
