The Neighborhood are going to Kiev with a large-scale project

December 2, 2020 7:00 pm, Sports Palace

In 2012, the band The Neighborhood released the single Sweater Weather and for five guys everything changed. The song was a huge hit, with a dramatic black and white clip garnering millions of views each week.

In such a situation, the label of "one song band" was attached to The Neighborhood. No musician in the world likes it when they say, "You're just lucky."

On December 2, 2020, at the Kiev Sports Palace, Jesse Rutherford and company will show that The Neighborhood can give the world a little more than Sweater Weather.

During 2017 and 2018, The Neighborhood engaged in the biggest and most ambitious project of their careers. The Hard mini album was originally released. Behind him is another one - To Imagine. Then there's the full-length The Neighborhood, and then another record - Ever Changing. If you make up the titles of all the releases, Hard To Imagine The Neighborhood Ever Changing will be released. In translation, this means: "It's hard to imagine that The Neighborhood will ever change at all." It is conceptually and self-ironically at the same time.
"We somehow saw our manager and discussed the current situation in music. People do not devote much time to one group or genre. So we decided to do something that would delay the listener with The Neighborhood for a long time," the group said.
Hard To Imagine The Neighborhood Ever Changing covers a wide range of genres. There are both standard "Neubahudian" tunes as well as somber hip-hop with rappers from Denzel Curry. Both disturbing melodies and grunty synth-pop anthems like Scary Love.
But the main thing is that the group does not care about skeptical comments about their experiments with sound.
"People most often don't know themselves. I don't care much what others say. Now we make completely different music and it's enough craze for me," says Jesse Rutherford.
If so, we are expecting a band in the winter with a similar mood.
