“What I try to play is very difficult, because I try to play the truth of who I am,” said Charles Mingus. He was not just a musician – he was a revolutionary. A double bass master, bandleader and composer who changed jazz history. His music was so deep and emotional that it went beyond the boundaries of conventional genres. He intertwined sounds, creating powerful, piercing compositions that still amaze listeners today. Mingus was not afraid to express his positions, even when it was dangerous. His fight against racism and social injustice was reflected in music - strong, passionate, free. Rolling Stone magazine recognized him as the second best bassist of all time, but Mingus ignored the ratings, knowing his worth. For his temperament, he was nicknamed "the Angry Man of Jazz", but for us he is an eternal legend who continues to inspire.

Mykola Kisteniov – master of the double bass

Mykola Kisteniov began his musical career as a bayan player, winning numerous awards. However, his vocation was the double bass. He collaborated with many Ukrainian and international musicians, including Dmitry Shurov (Pianoboy), Ivan Dorn, Ruslan Yegorov's Quartet, Urban Gypsy, The Impressions Jazz Quintet, as well as Karl Frierson (De-Phazz), Harrison Young, Onita Boone and Ingrit Arthur.
