" Stolen Happiness "
One of the most popular plays in Ukrainian literature and the most significant for the theater, "Stolen Happiness" by Ivan Franko has returned to the Frankish stage.
The new version proposed by director Dmytro Bogomazov is fundamentally different from many well-known interpretations. By offering a modern play based on its stage vocabulary , the director departs from social and everyday, ethnographic details. The story of the Mykola-Anna-Mykhailo triangle is transformed into a multi-layered psychological parable not only about the impossibility of building happiness on the misfortune of another and not only about "stolen" happiness and the desire for a kind of revenge that drives the heroes
