Ballet legend Vladimir Malakhov will gather world dance stars in Kiev
This fall, the legendary dancer Vladimir Malakhov will celebrate the anniversary creative evening in Kiev and bring together prominent artists on one stage. On November 24, ballet virtuosos from around the world - from Croatia to Japan - will give a large-scale concert at the National Opera of Ukraine. And they will show a unique program of modern and classical dance.
Vladimir Malakhov - Ukrainian artist, recognized as the best dancer of the twentieth century. He started his career in Moscow, and later was a guest star in the main theaters of New York, Berlin, Vienna, and Stuttgart. He supervised the ballet troupes of Berlin and Tokyo.
In Kiev, Vladimir regularly gives performances for students of the Kiev Ballet School. And now he will arrange on the main stage of the country a grand ballet concert with the participation of his friends and colleagues - world dance stars.
On his initiative, Kiev will for the first time see the works of the famous Japanese choreographer Toru Shimazaki. Shimazaki put on ballets on stages in Europe, the USA and Japan, created choreography for musicals, worked with Cirque du Soleil. He will come to Ukraine with his troupe and show two modern productions. First, “For James” is a light and playful ballet to Beethoven’s music, an abstraction about the dialogue of body, time and sound. The second, “In the blink of an eye” to the music of Radiohead and Tom Waits, will show how quickly the world around us is changing.
Vladimir Malakhov himself will also appear on the stage. Together with the Japanese ballerina and choreographer Amy Hariama they will present a unique vision of the miniature “The Dying Swan” to the music of Saint-Saens.
Stars of the Berlin State Ballet, Ksenia Ovsyanik and Dinu Tamazlaru will arrive to congratulate the artist on his anniversary. They will be joined by dancers from Croatia - Guilherme Gameiro Alves and Iva Vitić Gameiro, artisits from the Paris Opera Alessio Carbone and Laetitia Pujol. As well as Ukrainian prima Elena Filpyeva and Prime Minister Nikita Sukhorukov. Together they will show numbers from famous classical and modern ballets.
In the festive program of Vladimir Malakhov, each viewer will be able to open the dance from a new side. And admire the skill of legendary artists led by the best dancer of the twentieth century.
