Becoming an artist

Even while studying at school, Volodymyr clearly outlined his desire for acting and creativity: he did not miss any opportunity to play in the productions of the artistic circle. And when he entered the Uman State Agrarian University, he showed himself in the KVK as part of the "DDP" team. It is interesting that despite the desire to study at a theater institute, the future star became a student of an agricultural university majoring in economics. Evaluating this step from the height of his own experience, Volodymyr admits that he does not regret anything. After all, according to the artist, everything that is done is for the best.

An important stage in the career of the star of the Improv Live Show and the theater studio "Black Square" was playing in KVK, to which Volodymyr devoted 5 years. The young man quickly realized that the chosen profession of an economist was not for him and instead began to devote more time to creativity. Working on the stage benefited the artist: he managed to get rid of anxiety before going to the public, to adapt to different situations and circumstances. After working for some time as a presenter at weddings, Volodymyr did not feel full fulfillment. And the acquaintance with the founder of the theater of improvisation "Black Square" Anatoly Neyolov became a landmark for the actor. While working in the team of the theater studio, Volodymyr Shumko found his acting vocation and revealed his bright talent to a wide audience.

Volodymyr Shumko developed his career as an improviser by joining in 2011 the team of the Improv Live Show format on the New Channel. The actor does not even call the activity in the project work. For him, this is life, an occupation that brings maximum pleasure. Volodymyr notes that the main thing for a comedian is to go on stage in a good mood: the audience will definitely feel fake, and then no joke will go well. Volodymyr's main dream is to make people happy. And the talented artist carries out his intentions to the maximum.

Since 2019, already in the status of a star of Ukrainian humor, Volodymyr Shumko was invited to the main cast of the popular project "Women's Quarter". The producers noticed Shumko at the Improv Live Show and invited him to the casting, which was successful. The actor's unique wit, openness and sincerity made him one of the audience's favorites.

Volodymyr is sure: hard work and perseverance helped him achieve recognition and win the love of the audience. If you do not give yourself to the full, feel sorry for yourself and feel satisfaction from work, do not expect success. As an example, the artist cites a case when he was invited to work as a joker coach with the Kyiv Laughter League team. The actor gladly accepted the invitation, because a joint performance with young comedians reminded the star of his own first appearances on the stage. And the feeling of performing on stage is the thrill for which it is worth working with maximum effort.

Like every creative person, Volodymyr Shumko has a lot of unusual facts in his biography:

• as a child, the future comedian and improviser dreamed of becoming... a priest or a policeman. And the monk's work interested Vova the most. The boy really liked how Pip sprinkled everyone with water on Epiphany. But Volodymyr never put on the cassock;
• the actor collects printed comics. Shumko calls his selections of Marvel magazines, the oldest issues of DC and new Ukrainian editions a treasure;
• fascination with comics led to the comedian's desire to master unique skills - to teleport and heal with just a touch;
• the humorist's hobby is drawing. Volodymyr even attended an art school as a child. However, the teacher, who tried to impose a specific style on the boy, discouraged the desire to study further;
