About events
We invite you to listen to the masterpieces of Antonio Vivaldi in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the city - Atrium at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv.
If Venice has a spirit, its name is Vivaldi. The creator of "Four Seasons" was born and lived in it all his life, inscribing in his music colors, stunning liveliness and charm of the transparent relief of this city.
Vivaldi's music speaks much more about Venice than Vivaldi says about Vivaldi. His biography is full of white spots, mysteries, omissions and paradoxes. Vivaldi was a priest who, however, never - except the first year after ordination - served the liturgy. In addition, the "red-haired priest" (so nicknamed for his unusual Venetian burning hair color) led a life far from piety, and when the Holy Father tried to restrain for a leisure life with two young girls - cut off that he, a sick man, needs double care.
The instrumental concerts left after the composer are a mystery of the sphinx. The works of incredible depth and inexhaustible immortality were a textbook for Bach himself, and how they could be written by a lewd abbot and swindler who could sell the same score to different customers under different titles and extort money from the opera house is not clear to the mind. But isn't that why even in his most severe and sublime plays there is so much zest for life, joy and pleasure?
The Kyiv Mozart Orchestra knows how to capture the union with philosophical depth and festive sparkle. This orchestra of young Kyiv musicians, based on Mozart's principles of perfect beauty, subtle harmony and light audacity about rigid philharmonic norms, plays with the same drive as Jimi Hendrix in Woodstock. That is why there is no better Vivaldi in Kyiv than in them.
