Kyiv Youth Theater: the main center of theatrical art for children in the capital

Kyiv Academic Theater of Young Spectators on Lypki is the only drama theater for children in Kyiv. The institution is located in the center of the historical part of the city, at 15/17 Lypska Street. The features of the location are reflected in the popular name of the building – Theater on Lypki.

Today, the Kyiv Theater of Young Spectators has two stages:
  • large (accommodates 408 spectators);
  • small (for 80 spectators).

By the way, the year of the foundation of the Youth Theater is 1924. So in 2024 the theater will celebrate its 100th anniversary. And this means that we should expect many pleasant surprises for the audience. After all, they love and appreciate their audience here, offering a wide and diverse repertoire, surprising with bold directorial experiments and demonstrating a modern approach to productions. The works of the creative team are focused on three age categories: children, youth and the older generation (after all, no one will argue that every adult always remains young at heart).
