To get his beloved Marusya's consent to marry Ostap, he needs to find some miracle, namely, to find a fern flower. Realizing the hopelessness of such a case, he and his friends go to the Dark Forest and unexpectedly get caught up in a family dispute between Okh, the lord of the forest, and his youngest daughter, Mavka Marsilia. To spite her intransigent father, Mavka Fern undertakes to help the mortal Ostap and his friends, while sending the capricious mother of his future bride, Kylina, to the forest to her angry father Okh, but accidentally together with her "sworn enemy" neighbor.

Oh, in his own way, "raises" the stubborn Kylina and, trying to teach his naughty daughter a lesson, encounters strong resistance. When he lets her go, everything falls into place. Ostap wins Marusya's heart, and his friends also get approval from their girls...

But Oh is not left alone, his former lover also returns.

In the village, there is joy - a big wedding. In the forest, all the Mavka and Oh are happy, they are going to "work" on re-educating people, defend their lands together and always protect their own.
