"Stus: Passerby" is a chamber opera by the DakhTrio team, musicians and actors of the Dakh TsCM. The performance is based on the poems of Vasyl Stus, a Ukrainian poet who became a victim of the Soviet regime and a symbol of the struggle and resistance of the Ukrainian people.
From Vasyl Stus's letters to his son:
"A person does not exist by knowledge (although knowledge), not by work (although by work), not by love (although by it).
Man lives to live.
Very vague, but no one has said more clearly.
Try to understand other people, see their truth in their lives, which should be accepted, not challenged. Therefore, judge people not only from your position, but also from theirs. Even better — from several positions. For this you need to have a generous heart.
Trees and flowers, frogs and swallows, rats and falcons live in their own way. And no one makes any claims to them. So are people"
