"Nutcracker" ("Nutcracker") - the ballet of Peter Tchaikovsky for two acts based on Hoffman's tale of the same name (libretto Marius Petipa).
The ballet is written on the order of the Directorate of Imperial theaters. It was first put on 6 (18) December 1892 on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
