Creative group of the National Academic Theater of Russian Drama of Lesya Ukrainka presents the drama "Enemy of the people".
The events of Henrik Ibsen's play The Enemy of the People (Dr. Stockmann) takes place in the century before last. But the problems raised in the work have not lost their relevance in modern society.
According to the Lithuanian director Jonas Vaitkus, the play demonstrates to the viewer how dangerous the idea can be, which is brought to the extreme. And the victims can be the people around, not just the author of the idea, going all-in, even with the brightest aspirations. Infantile belief that your progressive solutions will overcome any obstacles can lead to personal tragedy. Does such a fate await the "enemy of the people" of Dr. Stockmann? Or will a wall of hypocrisy and covetousness fall?
These questions the viewer has to answer, watching the actions of the hero of the play Stockmann. He finds out that the inhabitants and guests of the resort city are threatened by pathogenic bacteria, which infect the water bodies of the town. A good intention to help people turns into a confrontation between the doctor and the people.
