HISTORY

Odessa Academic Drama Theater is one of the oldest theaters in Ukraine. It was founded in 1926, combining the collectives of the Odesa Theater "Masodram" and the district Drama Theater named after Taras Shevchenko. The theater under the artistic direction of the main director A. Hrypych immediately announced itself with significant premieres - "THE SUNSET" by I. Babel, "The Adventures of the Brave Soldier Shveik", "Beethoven", "Yugen the Unlucky" by A. Toller and others.
In the 1930s, Grypych was replaced by Avraham Treplev, who built a repertoire based on outstanding works of domestic and foreign drama. One of the significant premieres of that time was the play "Mother" by K. Chapek. In 1941-1944, the theater was evacuated, and after its return, it again took its place in the theater world of Ukraine. Many stars shone on its stage, which forever entered the history of the domestic theater.
In 2009, the theater received the title of Academic.
The Odesa Regional Academic Drama Theater is a center of cultural life for many Odessans and guests of the city, whose performances are aimed at forming and strengthening the spirit of society in the modern world!

CAPACITY AND STRUCTURE OF FIELDS

• THE GREAT HALL is the venue with the largest capacity, accommodating up to 760 spectators. It is equipped with modern light and sound systems.
• SMALL STAGE is a platform located on the second floor of the theater and has a capacity of 60 spectators. It is used for performances, as well as for lectures and workshops.
• Ground floor, mezzanine, balcony or boxes - no matter what you choose, the layout of the hall provides excellent audibility and visibility of the stage from any place. The main thing is to take care of it in advance!
