May 25, "Jesus Christ Superstar: Reversed" by Musical Slayers is a concert performance of selected numbers from the cult rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" on the Peppers Club stage.
TOP 3 reasons to attend the event:
— Live performance of key numbers from "Jesus Christ Superstar" — the legendary rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
— Role inversion: men's parts are performed by women, and women's parts by men.
— Young artists who have already made a name for themselves on the capital's stage, and a powerful live band.
The main idea of the project is not just a formal experiment, but a reaction to the times. Today, when war is ongoing and the world is changing before our eyes, women are increasingly at the center of events - in roles that require strength, responsibility, and the ability to make decisions.
This was the starting point for a new take on a familiar story. In “Jesus Christ Superstar: Reversed,” the focus shifts: what happens when key events are experienced through women’s voices—with their emotion, determination, vulnerability, and inner strength.
This performance is the thesis of the 4th year undergraduate students of the R. M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music - artists who have already made a name for themselves with the Broadway Nights in Kyiv concert series.
Artists:
4th year students of the R. M. Glier Moscow State Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, specialization "Musical Theater Artist"
Band:
Yaroslav Boris - drums
Mykola Kistenev - bass
Mykhailo Bankovskyi - guitar
Oleksandr Ognivets — keyboards
Polina Mayboroda - keyboards
Denis Adu - trumpet
