The Rivne City Palace of Culture was established as a regional cultural center. Built according to a standard design, the palace was commissioned in 1976 and placed under the authority of the Rivne Flax Mill, which is when the name «Tekstylnyk» became established. In 1994, the institution was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Rivne Executive Committee. In 2021, the venue celebrated its 45th anniversary with a large-scale program. Performances by ensembles and artists took place both in the concert hall and in the square in front of the «Tekstylnyk». The venue's golden, 50th anniversary was also celebrated on a grand scale. All the events focused on raising funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
An interesting fact is that the site where the Palace of Culture now stands was once home to a bustling market on Zhytynska Street.
Building Architecture and Auditorium Capacity
The building's main architectural feature is its massive rectangular facade with extensive glazing, which visually lightens the imposing structure and allows plenty of natural light into the foyer. Natural stone, including marble and granite, was used for the finishes. The architectural ensemble extends into the spacious square in front of the Palace of Culture. Here stands a well-known monument to a female weaver, combining two worlds: the industrial era and the Polissian tradition of weaving delicate, gauze-like fabrics.
The large auditorium can comfortably accommodate up to 677 spectators. The venue also has a smaller hall with 170 seats.
The building entrance is designed to provide barrier-free access.
