Ballet "Vii" – a new production by Radu Poklitaru! October 24, Kyiv, October Palace
1. For the first time, a choreographer takes on a traditionally Ukrainian theme, so it will be twice as interesting to see ballet.
2. "Vii" is a virtuoso musical accompaniment because it was written by the talented composer and laureate of international music awards Olexandr Rodin. Actually, his suite inspired Poklittar to create this ballet.
3. 3D-projection is used for the first time in Ukrainian ballet!
Ballet "Vii" – mysticism, sexuality, experiment
It is important to understand that ballet only partially repeats the plot of Gogol's work. The characters and context are the same, but the libretto is significantly different from the original. The modernity of the theater is evident in everything from choreography to costumes and scenery.
Like all Poklitaru`s ballets, "Vii" is filled with sexual energy and sexual images that are intriguing with Gogol's mysticism.
"Vii" – a landmark performance in honor of the 13th anniversary of the Kiev "Modern Ballet Theater"
The main roles in it are played by Vladyslav Detiuchenko, Illia Miroshnichenko, Olena Saltykova. Kateryna Hloba, Artem Shoshyn.
Libretto wrote personally by Poklitaru. The costume designer was Dmytro Kuriata, and a 3D projection was developed specifically for "Vii" by Olga Nikitina.
The events on the stage look emotional and contrasting: bright light accents, sharp passionate attacks of plastic choreography. And at one point the movements of the dancers are similar to ocean waves, and at another to the lightning of a terrible sky.
Visual aesthetics are an essential value of any ballet, but in "Vii" you will see it on a completely different level.
